add the matic01:18network to our metamask wallet this is a01:20step that you cannot switch01:22so make sure you have your metamask01:24wallet already downloaded if you want to01:25find out how to download metamask i made01:27a whole video about that01:29i’ll put a little card up right here as01:30well as the link will be down in the01:31description below01:33go ahead and open up your meta mask next01:35thing you’re going to want to do is head01:36over to these three dots and hit expand01:38view this is going to open up a new web01:39tab01:40for your metamask wallet from here what01:42you’re going to want to do is hit this01:43little colorful icon in the top right01:45corner01:45and then go ahead and hit settings once01:47you’re in your settings you’re going to01:48come down here to networks01:50as we can see over here i have the01:51ethereum main net i have the binance01:53smart chain01:54but i don’t have the matic main net so01:55let’s go ahead and hit add network01:57now we have to input all of these01:59details so network name is going to be02:01matic mainnet02:02the new rpc url i have it right here but02:05if you don’t have it there is a handy02:07little website that you can copy and02:08paste it from go ahead and copy and02:10paste02:10the rpc url make sure it is correct that02:13is very important02:14chain id is 137. currency symbol is02:18going to be matic02:19all capitals and the block explorer we02:22will02:23put right from here explore02:26matic.network just copy and paste that02:29and this is how you add any new network02:31to your metamask wallet right there’s a02:33plethora of networks that you can02:35do your decentralized finance activities02:38on02:38however matic network is one of my02:41favorites it’s pretty much the number02:42one layer to scaling solution for02:44ethereum02:44so if you don’t already have it in your02:46metamask definitely get that done02:48right away all right now that we have02:50the matic network02:51in our metamask we’re going to want to02:52head back to the ethereum main net02:54because we need to bridge our tokens our02:56erc20 tokens over to the matic02:59network layer 2 blockchain even though03:01it’s built on top of ethereum so in03:03order to do that03:04we go over here to matic.network this is03:06the official matic website03:08we go over to products then we hit03:10wallet at the top okay03:11once this new tab opens up all we’re03:13going to do is hit this button that says03:15move funds03:16to matic okay now we’re going to select03:18the currency that we want to move over03:20in this example i have 1000 matic tokens03:22i want to bridge over to the matic03:24network03:24so i’ll go ahead and hit max 1000 switch03:28to the matic network03:29hit transfer okay so moving funds from03:33ethereum takes seven to eight minutes03:35we’ll hit continue now if this is the03:37first time you’re doing this you will03:38have to pay an approval gas fee03:40all right but all i’m going to be doing03:41is hitting the deposit gas fee03:43so let’s go ahead and continue there03:46ethereum thematic03:47estimated transaction fee zero dollars03:49okay03:51so let us continue this is a 17 gas fee03:54let’s hit continue03:56so i will need to confirm this on my03:58metamask wallet so let’s actually change04:01this gas04:02to the highest because i don’t want to04:03wait too long for this video04:06hit confirm so after we confirm that04:08transaction we now have to wait for the04:10transaction to go04:11through now it said seven to eight04:13minutes i’m hoping it does go through04:15sooner we can view it on ether scan04:17and see the details so estimated 1004:20minutes04:21usually doesn’t take that long we will04:23see how long this takes04:25so they were being truthful when they04:26said seven to eight minutes it did take04:28exactly seven to eight minutes04:29however we now have our 1000 matic on04:32the matic network04:33now it is time to head over to the quick04:36swap04:36exchange the url is quick swap dot04:39exchange a little pro tip for you04:41is to go to coin gecko or coin market04:43cap and they always have the exact04:44website right there for you to click on04:46making sure that you don’t put in a04:48wrong website link04:49which could of course lead to very bad04:51things such as loss of funds because04:52there are a lot of people out there that04:54want your crypto so they go ahead and04:55duplicate websites04:56so always make sure you use the correct04:58website i will leave the link to quick05:00swap05:00down in the description below anyway05:02it’s now time to switch to the matic05:04network we are prompted to do so here05:06all right let’s go ahead and hit switch05:07switch network05:09beautiful so now we can see we have our05:121000 matic05:13over on the matic network and it’s time05:15to use these matic05:16to go ahead and buy something on quick05:19swap so for the purpose of this tutorial05:21let’s go ahead and buy some ethereum on05:22the matic network05:24let’s put in 450 matic tokens we’ll get05:27point one each so let’s go ahead and hit05:29swap05:30and then confirm swap we are now going05:31to have to confirm this on metamask05:34and we can see that the gas fee is going05:37to be05:38literally so minimal 0.002605:42matic is our gas fee and if we convert05:45that to u.s dollars that’s like05:46a fraction of a penny so compared to the05:49ethereum blockchain where you’re05:51spending you know seventeen dollars just05:52to send over your matic to east05:54be even more if you use uni swap you’re05:56paying less than a penny for a quick05:58swap05:58that is why this exchange is picking up06:01so rapidly06:02you cannot beat cheap gas fees so we’ll06:05go ahead and confirm this06:06on our device after it is confirmed it06:09should go06:10through relatively quickly we can see on06:12the matic block explorer06:16okay unable to locate this hash see06:19what’s going on here06:21okay transaction confirmed all right so06:23we have now swapped 450 matic for 0.106:26ethereum so that is how you use the06:28quick swap exchange06:29yes it is that simple keep in mind this06:32exchange be in07:25perfect confluence07:26so let’s approve the eth we’re going to07:28have to again use our07:30metamask wallet hit confirm so it07:32shouldn’t take too long for this07:34transaction to approve and then after we07:36do approve it we will yeah there we go07:38so now we’re gonna go ahead and supply07:40the liquidity07:41now the incentive for supplying07:43liquidity is that you do07:44receive passive income in the form of07:47transaction fees that take place when07:49people swap07:50their matic and ethereum when they swap07:52in that pair okay so let’s go ahead and07:54hit supply07:55and we can see that we’re going to be07:56receiving 5.7 matic eth07:59lp pool tokens liquidity provider pool08:01tokens08:02interchangeable names there all right so08:04we’ll go ahead and confirm
